"Won't the Black Market Be Able to Undercut Government Prices?"

Economic Objection to Ending Prohibition

“Drug dealers will still sell drugs because the government tax on drugs will drive up the cost and the dealers will be able to undercut licensed sellers.”

False: The cost of smuggling drugs is partly what drives up the cost. When drugs are legalized for licensed sale, that cost of doing business goes way down. The govt. can then undercut the price dealers charge. Also, it seems the marijuana smuggled in the to US is of inferior quality, and many marijuana users like better quality stuff, mainly the stuff that is homegrown.
