Ironman Part 3, Using Cannabis Oil

In this, the third installment of our interview with Joe "Ironman" Siler we ask how he used cannabis oil, what using it was like, how long he had to wait to notice any change, and other issues relating to its use.

Christians Against Prohibition: When did you start applying it?
Joe: I first applied the oil on 6/22/08. At that time I was using a 12-hour regimen. This I modified as I gained experience with the substance.

CAP: Does it feel special: tingle, warm, cold, thick, sticky, greasy, etc…?

Joe: The oil is about the consistency of Vaseline, but extremely sticky. I keep my oil in an airtight container at room temperature, so, it doesn't feel warm when it is applied.

CAP: Does it have a strong odor? Did it make you smell like you'd been smoking it?
Joe: Not really. The odor, if any, is undetectable under normal circumstances.

CAP: Have you noticed if there is a better time of day than another to apply it?
Joe: No, it is just a matter of when it's best for the user.

CAP: How do you apply it? Do you rub it in until it vanishes? Do you dab it on and cover it with a band-aid?
Joe: I apply it using a regular Q-tip with one cotton pad cut off. I take the cut end and move it around in the oil until I have enough oil accumulated on it to completely cover the lesion. You simply use the Q-tip to apply enough oil to cover the lesion, and then cover it with a waterproof band-aid to protect it, and, keep it from getting on your clothes, or bed linens.

Rubbing it in may be an option, but I do not recommend it. Considering how extremely sticky the oil is, you could end up with quite a mess.

CAP: How often do you apply it to the affected area? Hourly? Daily? Weekly?
Joe: After using this substance I found that a 72-hour cycle of treatment is best. Put the oil on, leave it for 72-hours, and reapply if necessary.

Your own personal observations will be your guide to when you're finished. When you look at the lesion being treated and say to yourself, "it's gone, cured, finished," then you [should] apply the oil two more times using the 72-hour treatment regimen, just to be sure.

CAP: How long did it take for you to notice any difference in your condition? How long did it take for you to notice improvements?
Joe: I noticed a "change" after the first 12-hour application. At the time this change was noticed, I did not know if it was an improvement, or just a change, lacking any experience with the treatment. Hind sight being 20/20, yes, it was an improvement.

CAP: Have you noticed any pleasant or unpleasant side effects? I.e. did it cause itching, bleeding, a rash, stain your clothes, etc…
Joe: With the first two "test" lesions there was a slight itching, nothing more. Now, with the lesions I am treating now, which are a bit larger than the test lesions, there is considerable itching, and some pain.

The itching I attribute to healing, such as many of us have felt when a small cut is healing. The pain, which is quite minor, but annoying none the less, I can only attribute to the new healthy skin growing to replace the dead cancerous cells [which are] rather sensitive.

Yes they do bleed, but less and less as treatment progresses. Skin cancer bleeds without very much encouragement anyway, so it's nothing caused by the treatment.

I haven't got it on my clothes yet, because I am very careful when applying it, and cover it quite well afterwards. If you do get it on your clothes I recommend using [isopropyl] alcohol to clean it off, you know, a spot cleaning. I doubt very much that it can be washed out very well, it's not water soluble.

CAP: How much cannabis oil have you used so far?
Joe: I have used about 10 or 12 ounces so far. That's not ounces of oil, but ounces of cannabis tops [buds] used to make the oil. The exact quantity of oil, I have no idea.

CAP: Did you share what you were doing with your doctors or others? Did you learn from, or share your experiences as you were using it, with others who said they were using it?
Joe: Yes I have shared with doctors, and anybody who will listen. Most doctors don't hold up a crucifix, a sharp wooden stake, and cry "begone evil spirit," but they don't exactly express an enthusiastic interest in it. You know, the feds are coming, the feds are coming.

On the other hand, regular people I have talked to do show a great interest in what I am doing. When I tell them some of the facts surrounding MMJ [medical marijuana], they respond by saying "I didn't know that, you mean it really works?" and "but the government says," and I tell them that the government lies through its teeth, and believe me, they do.

Stay tuned for the 4th part of our interview, a reflection on his experiences and other concluding thoughts..
