Plea to ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org

Someone recently sent a plea to ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org. "Please don't ignore this," so I didn't. I don't ignore any of the email received. I do however, delete spam and junk from malicious attacks.

However, the person did not register, which would allow him/her to post to the forums and receive replies. The return email address seems suspect as does the name. If you are the person who wrote and you disagree with this first impression, then feel free to sign up with the website and set the record straight.

Here is the letter sent, with some editorial license to make it easier to read, and with some proper nouns obscured.

My name is __________. I just got bonded out of jail on a drug charge I had nothing to do with.

The police lady let the passenger in my car leave the scene before the search was conducted, but there was no way he would be able to hide a quarter pound in his pants pocket and I did not see him bring a quarter pound in my car.

I let the police search my car (_______ County sheriff). But anyways, ___________ is considered in the Bible belt.

I found Jesus Christ in jail and I plan on staying on the right path. I am not loosing God again. But I am afraid I might go to jail when my court date does come.

I take care of my grandparents and without me they won't last much longer.

I've been talking to God every single day praying nothing bad happens to me for a bag of marijuana that does not have my fingerprints anywhere on the bag found.

I believe _________ county planted the marijuana in my car. But my main reason for e-mailing ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org is because _____________ like I said, is considered in the Bible Belt.

If ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org would start a campaign or some kind of get-together and let the people know you are in the state maybe you can get more and more support and possibly push decriminalization to happen sooner, which would get me and countless other individuals who are either going to jail or already in jail OUT of jail.

I believe God led me to your website for a purpose. Please don't ignore this.

Hello Distraught Reader

Please allow me to respond to you publicly for the benefit of you and perhaps others. I will try to address all of your concerns. Since I have posted your letter as a web page you can now leave comments on it, I will be able to tell if it's you —the original poster — if you reply since you should use your email address which will not be shown publicly.

The police lady let the passenger in my car leave the scene before the search was conducted, but there was no way he would be able to hide a quarter pound in his pants pocket and I did not see him bring a quarter pound in my car.

I am not a marijuana expert, but from what I've seen on TV and based on my own knowledge of units of measure, one quarter pound is not an insignificant sum that can be stuffed in one's pockets, perhaps you meant one quarter ounce? In either case, there are currently people who think any amount, no matter how tiny, is worth crushing people over, sorry to say.

I am not a policing expert, but from what I've seen on the show "Cops," I have a hard time believing they let anyone leave the scene, unless, like you say, their wish was to set you up and get into a "he said, she said" situation where it was just one person's word against another.

I let the police search my car (_______ County sheriff). But anyways, ___________ is considered in the Bible belt.

Again, I am not a policing expert or a lawyer, but from the advice I've read and seen, never consent to such things. They will try to ply you with unconstitutional logic, for example, "if you're innocent you have nothing to hide, so let us look through your ________," but this is most likely something they would reject if you showed up at their house and asked to rummage through it.

I found Jesus Christ in jail and I plan on staying on the right path. I am not loosing God again. But I am afraid I might go to jail when my court date does come.

Do not fear. Even if the worst happens — you die — God will raise you from the dead. Please see this story about Jonathan Magbie and the relevant quote from Jesus. His case was extreme, but it shows what we must be prepared for; many prohibitionists are killers, and all of them tacitly are.

I will pray for you that you stay out of jail.

I take care of my grandparents and without me they won't last much longer.

Contact the members of your church so they know what's going on and can help. Also let your neighbors know. If you do not attend a church, consider approaching some and evaluating them to see where you might fit in. Even if they don't really like you, and you don't fit in well with them, they should have enough love in their hearts (one hopes) to check in on your grandparents.

I've been talking to God every single day praying nothing bad happens to me for a bag of marijuana that does not have my fingerprints anywhere on the bag found.

Just being arrested for having marijuana is bad! It should not be illegal! Pray to God not only every single day, but all times of day! Since you sound like a new Christian let me caution you of one thing: don't ask God for signs, don't test God. In other words, don't say something like, "if you want me to do ______ then give me a sign," or "if you want me to _________ then let _______ happen." This is putting God to the test and most likely malicious spirits will use the opportunity to trick you and make you feel as though God promised you something and is letting you down.

Read the Gospels in the reverse order: John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew. Locate all the things Jesus asks you/us to pray for. That is a very good place to start. If you do not go to jail, come back here and I will gladly give you more advice on other parts of the Bible to read. Don't do yourself a disservice and think of the whole Bible as written at once, like every other book you've read. In other words don't open it at page one, then try to work your way through to the last page in Revelation. In my opinion that is not how new believers should approach the Bible.

I believe _________ county planted the marijuana in my car.

This is quite possible. They must have a serious vendetta against you to plant that much.

God leads us all over the place for a purpose! But we also must be in fear of God so we don't accidentally follow evil spirits; not an accusation, just a comment to balance out the first sentence.

ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org is for the complete legalization of cannabis, not just the decriminalization. Decriminalization leaves the door open to the black market, its violence, its unpaid taxes, and other associated ills. Marijuana deserves to be illegal like religion deserves to be illegal! The illegality of God's creation is against our very Constitution! Yes, these evil hypocrites running the show and behind the scenes will pay.

We are fighting a spiritual war, a war of truth versus lies. This war is not fought on the streets or with guns. Yes, they fight us physically, brutalize us, attack our websites, send us to jail, and do many other wasteful and shameful practices; they will get their repayment in full — plus some — Jesus promises, but we are not to raise a finger against them.

ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org is for the immediate release of non-violent "drug offenders" whether in jail for a trumped up offense like yours or for some other reason! All of them should have been let out yesterday!

The best method for you, at this time, is to sign up with the website and you will see a link at the bottom of each page "Printer-friendly version." Just click that link and print the page. You can use any page you like to pass out to others to begin conversations.

I also encourage you to join the website Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, http://LEAP.cc/ and learn many more reasons about the need to end drug prohibition by legalizing and regulating all drugs. You do not need to be a cop, judge, lawyer, etc… to join. There is a lot of beneficial information there to learn. You can also invite a speaker to visit organizations you are associated with.

In the right sidebar are links to the Drug Truth Network Podcasts, a great weekly radio show that will go a long way to educate you on current events and the multitude of reasons to end the War on Drugs. There is also an "Explore More" side bar to use to reach other organizations to contact for help. Expect more to be listed over time; frankly there are so many organizations I'm not sure how to best organize them at this moment, so use Google or other search engine.

ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org is about as small as they come at this point in time. But the hope is anyone who reads your letter will also pray for you, and the far-too-many others in jail as well. Feel free to pray for ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org too!
