"Won't Legalizing Marijuana Increase Public Safety Costs?"

Social Objection to Ending Prohibition

“Won’t Legalizing Marijuana Increase Public Safety Costs?”

No.

Costs will go WAY DOWN!

Just ask yourself these simple questions:

  • Which costs more money, tracking down and imprisoning people with marijuana or ignoring them?
  • Which costs more money, going in to foreign lands to fight wars against marijuana or ending prohibition?
  • Which costs more money, sending many billions of dollars to foreign lands for decades while watching the supply of marijuana increase, or ending prohibition and collecting tax revenues on a formerly huge black market activity?

Freeing the many people from prison who do not belong there will be a huge financial savings to society, as well as bringing them back in to society as productive members!

Reduced costs and danger due to chasing people running from the police if they have marijuana.

Economic Analysis

Visiting professor of economics at Harvard University, Jeffrey A. Miron, calculated costs to society. Over at the website, "Costs of Marijuana Prohibition: Economic Analysis," you can read more. But on the home page, right at the top is this "Replacing marijuana prohibition with a system of taxation and regulation similar to that used for alcoholic beverages would produce combined savings and tax revenues of between $10 billion and $14 billion per year."

California Cannabis Act

[removed] but regardless how many cops you put on it, whether you get massive [removed] government to spy on every person, prohibitions do not work. They just don't.

Clearly your spam comment is nothing more than an attempt to pull more people into debt instead of setting them free from it. THAT IS EVIL! Read the Bible and you will find it CLEARLY states that usurious interest is WRONG! You may think you are rich from engaging in loan-shark activities but in reality you will find you are poor and in a pit. Repent, bear the fruits of repentance and you will find yourself slowly but surely climbing out of that pit.

I will now do what Jesus did to the bankers, money changers, and merchants who invaded the temple, and banish you.

The stock photo of the woman with a pretty face is a humorous attempt to fake me into thinking you are honest. No doubt if she ever found her face next to your comment, she would be ashamed.
