Preacher Murdered: Just Another "Fill Up" at the Filling Station

Read the story below and you can learn of yet another tragedy in this Drug War, yet another irony as modern day events unfold with amazing accuracy fulfilling prophecy.

Pastor fatally shot by police in drug sting

Interest in the Future

Many of us are interested in the future. Stock brokers want to know the future so they can bet on successful companies, political leaders wished they knew the future so they could see where public opinion is headed, and us lowly religious people are interested in the future too. But many of us religious folks read the Bible to see what's predicted, what's prophesied.

I, like many, have read and re-read the Bible searching for any indication of how long we have to be here on the earth, subject to the bullies, the thieves, the litter bugs, and the crazed wolves in sheep's clothing pretending to represent God but who don't. There are indications of what will happen and various "signs of the times," but there is only one place I've found that gives a metric for how much longer we have to wait.

Bible Prophecy Metric

Unfortunately no number is given, but in Revelation 6:9-11 it's written "how long … until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" The reply? Wait a little longer until the same number as you all have been killed. In other words, there were a set number of people who had been killed who had been working for God, and after the fifth seal of the scroll was opened, it "reset" and those under the altar were told to wait until the same number as them had been killed.

Jesus Rages at the Hypocrites

Smarter minds than mine can argue whether the seals have begun to be opened or not, or which seal we're at now, but the point of this essay is the killing of Jonathan Ayers, pastor at Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Lavonia, Georgia. Shot with the fatal bullet at a filling station. And Jesus said…

"Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!

"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

"And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

Matthew 23:32-35 (NIV)

Do You Think They Were Worse Sinners?

Before I go any further let me say I am not trying to condemn the two men — the undercover cops — at the filling station who rushed towards him with their guns drawn, one of them claiming to be "struck" by Ayers' car, and the other who shot Ayers even though Ayers was backing away from him (and not driving towards him). They, and all prohibitionists, have already condemned themselves! It was not me who told them, or any drug prohibitionist, to bully their will, or enforce evil "laws," on others; evil and arbitrary laws of men. Here's a reference for you to read so you know I am not condemning them specifically: Luke 13:1-5.

Yes, this was just another fill up at the filling station. Another brother murdered for the illusory crime of "doing drugs." Yes, this was just another murder of an innocent man that adds up to the number needed to fulfill some sort of curious list of people under the altar mentioned in Revelation. Yes, as Jesus said, the vipers of self-righteous thuggery filling up the measure of sin of their forefathers.

I have not recounted the story or the facts I've read on this case. There are other websites for that. (See links at the bottom of this article.) ChristiansAgainstProhibition.org shines the light of God's word on these events. However, CNN has posted surveillance video of the shooting. Having watched the video I am offended by the wording of the CNN article to the extent they say one of the undercover cops was "struck" since I see no such thing. I see one of them pushing himself off the car as it backs up, and later both run after the car, hardly the act of someone who was struck. I also see someone shooting at the car as it backs up away from the shooter, is that an act of self-defense?

Pray for Them

Pray for those cops. Pray for the prohibitionists who used those cops as puppets in this evil game of drug prohibition. Those who have not pulled triggers and shot people dead are just as guilty for every death done in the name of the War on Drugs, guilty of locking up millions of innocent human beings in prisons and jails for the "crime" of marijuana, mushrooms, peyote, and others.

The War on Drugs is doing nothing but festering an ill atmosphere of distrust between the cops and everyone else, even ministers of God's word. The War on Drugs is doing nothing but bankrupting our country by stuffing millions of people in prison who do not belong there. The War on Drugs is denying sick people medicine they should have access to. The War on Drugs is denying worshippers access to plants God put here for us to use for his glory. The War on Drugs is making a new legion of modern day Pharisees; yes, "fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers! You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?"

Just another fill up at the filling station.
