I came up with this line after falling down a bit during a presentation. Or to put it another way, after I felt I didn’t answer a question as well as I could have and that frustrated me, this concise statement came to mind later.

I was showing a portion of the Clergy Speak Out Against War on Drugs video and afterwards I was asked if I really agreed with, and meant, we needed to repeal prohibition. Well, of course I do!

Unfortunately there have been so many lies by the terrorist extremist Drug Warriors that some people’s minds instantly jump from one extreme to the other. Typically they agree the Drug War is an abysmal failure, but since they have so many lies in mind — (no) thanks to the terrorists (Prohibitionists) — they think us reformers want to put every drug back on drug store shelves for anyone of any age to buy at any time. No.

As us legalizers will tell you, you can’t control (regulate) something while it’s illegal. This is why we must re-legalize drugs.

We must repeal our prohibition laws and replace them with regulation laws.

As far as general advice goes, we must not listen to the women and men of lawlessness. In that essay (which needs to be re-written) you can see how they strive to push the extremist positions; and how both of those positions basically equal the same thing.

For those who feel uncomfortable saying ~ “we must legalize drugs,” or “we must re-legalize drugs,” I have a feeling this quote will be easier to say.

We must repeal our prohibition laws and replace them with regulation laws.
