Jesus Says Those Who Do Evil Hate Bringing Things to the Light

Submitted by Thinking CAP on Sat, Jan 26, 2013 - 7:27 pm

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.

Let Your Light Shine

Submitted by Thinking CAP on Tue, Dec 6, 2011 - 1:59 am

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it.

The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom, and now one greater than Solomon is here.

The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.

No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.

Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.

One of These Days You Could Be Cut Into Little Pieces

Submitted by Thinking CAP on Wed, Dec 8, 2010 - 7:37 pm

One of these days I’m going to cut you into little pieces!

But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.

The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.  He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

He Despised the Shame

Submitted by Thinking CAP on Sun, Jul 26, 2009 - 9:41 pm

The humiliation and shame they made; with their own hands, mouths, and other objects of adoration.

Digging traps for others to fall in to, selling access to buildings dedicated to God, instead of spreading God's forgiveness and spirit.

They accused, tricked, abused, and acted in other Non-Golden Rule Behaviors.

Some accusations [Luke 7:31-35], they made in front of others, include:

  • Being a pleasure-seeker.
  • Drunkard.
  • Glutton.
  • Friend of tax collectors and sinners.

They acted in hypocritical ways as they tried to bring him down! [John 8:1-11, John 8:32-39, Luke 12:1-2, Luke 6:41-46, Luke 13:11-17, Mark 7:5-9, Mark 12:12-17, Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18, Matthew 7:1-5, Matthew 23:1-39]

They tried to make him afraid. [Luke 13:31-33] But he knew what was coming.

And they succeeded in bringing him down…
